Special Session
Special Session on
Measurable security for Embedded Computing and Communication Systems
 - MeSeCCS 2014

7 - 9 January, 2014 - Lisbon, Portugal

Within the International Conference on Pervasive and Embedded Computing and Communication Systems - PECCS 2014

In cooperation with:

Roberto Uribeetxeberria
Mondragon University

Antonio Di Marzo
SESM s.c.a.r.l.

Security, Privacy and Dependability must be addressed in the context of Embedded Systems (ESs) as “built in” rather than as “add-on” functionalities.
This session will focus on this strategy and research works showing technologies improving security, privacy and dependability at different levels: node, network, middleware and overlay as well as real word application results are the objective of the session. At the same time, the use of metrics to determine security levels is desirable in order to measure the quality of the security solution, to (re-)validate or even to (re-)certificate them making this process faster, easier and widely accepted. Therefore research in security metrics for embedded systems is also within the scope of the special session.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Security functionality for Embedded Devices
- Security functionality for networking and connectivity
- Virtualisation
- Attack monitoring on Embedded Devices
- Security Middleware Architectures
- Pervasive Embedded Devices
- Composable Security
- Threat evaluation
- Security ontologies
- Security reasoning
- Personal and Organisational Privacy
- Dependable Security
