Brief Bio
Maryline Chetto is a full professor at the University of Nantes. She is conducting her research at IRCCyN (Institut de Recherche en Communications et Cybernétique de Nantes). She received the degree of Docteur de 3ième cycle in control engineering and the degree of Habilité à Diriger des Recherches in Computer Science from the University of Nantes, France, in 1984 and 1993, respectively. Her current research interests include scheduling and power management for real-time energy harvesting applications.

Most of embedded devices have strong real time requirements and energy limitations. Their lifetime and functionality is limited by their battery which can be difficult even impossible to replace or to recharge. Research is very active for designing very low power platforms. Nonetheless, energy that must be available on board still limits the lifespan of wireless embedded systems and prevent their miniaturization. Alternative energy sources present in our environment could be exploited to achieve perpetual functioning without replacing or recharging batteries: this is energy harvesting. Both battery-operated and energy harvesting embedded systems face many challenges due to limitations and/or fluctuations in energy availability. This workshop will address the important challenges related to design, implementation and performance evaluation of embedded systems
